Hi,
I'm Hydro, a water molecule. I'm really a trio of three atoms, an
oxygen (red) and two hydrogen atoms (blue). Together we form water
(H2O). I am about to embark on a journey around Earth,
but you get to decide where I begin! Since I cannot read or write
a map, you will have to keep track of where I go. Try not to get
lost, please. To assist you in mapping my travel, you will find red,
green, and black words. Red
words refer to principle residences, places that I stay during my
journey. Scientists call this storage or reservoirs.
When you come across a red
word, write it down on an index card.
Green
words refer to directions that I am moving. If you read, "upward,"
this means I am moving up and away from the previous residence. This
will help you in remembering the direction I traveled in getting from one
storage residence to the next.
Black
words refer to transformations that I went through in getting from one
storage
place to the next. Label the arrows with these words.
Ready?
Where should I begin my journey?
